Glenn Lorbecki
Audio Engineering Society President Agnieszka Roginska has announced that Glenn Lorbecki has agreed to serve as the Society’s Treasurer, effective February 16, 2020. The AES Board of Directors voted unanimously to approve Lorbecki’s appointment. He will serve as Treasurer through the 2020 election and one-year term of office of a Treasurer-Elect.
Lorbecki joined the AES in 1988 and has served as a member of the Financial Planning Committee since 2015, most recently as Chair of the FPC. His expertise in fiscal management stems from his 20-plus years’ business experience as president of the recording/video post-production company Glenn Sound, Inc., and his service since 1999 to the Recording Academy as PNW Chapter President, as a member of TV and Technology Committees, as Co-Chair (with Bob Ludwig) of the Producers and Engineers Wing and as national Secretary/Treasurer for four years.
As chair of the Recording Academy Finance Committee, he led oversight of the Grammy parent company from budgeting to audits, business development, compensation, legal issues, growth planning, real estate acquisition, charitable giving, and the sustained growth of their endowment fund.
A producer, engineer, composer, musician, studio owner and educator, Lorbecki established his career with such diverse artists as the Violent Femmes, Dizzy Gillespie, Dr. John, the White Stripes, Dave Matthews, Regina Spektor, Green Day, Weezer and Coldplay. He is part of the Grammy telecast audio team on CBS, and his work is on permanent exhibit at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.
