Makin Lightin expands audio division with Nexo from A.C. Entertainment Technologies
Makin Lightin, a live events production and rental company in the North West of England, has invested in Nexo’s Geo M10 line array system and P12 point source speakers. “We were looking for a PA system that could be added to and expanded as our audio division grows”, explains Jonathan Makin, the companies’ owner. “Steve Eaton, Senior Audio Sales Executive at A.C. Entertainment Technologies, introduced us to the Nexo system. Once we heard what it could deliver, we knew it was the right choice for us.”
The Nexo Geo M10 system allows Makin Lightin to scale the system as needed for various projects. “The integrated rigging system and the scalability of the setup were major factors in our decision”, says Makin. “With the optional asymmetric flange kit, we can use the P12s as monitor wedges or point source speakers, giving us flexibility for different events.”
The new Nexo equipment was quickly put to work, making its debut at a corporate event just a week after delivery. “The system went straight out to a black-tie ball at The Point, Old Trafford cricket ground”, reports Makin. “We flew the Geo M10 and used the P12s as monitors and room delays. The system has since been used for several local festivals and smaller gigs.”
