SuperLight Photonics unveils new supercontinuum laser

SuperLight Photonics launches its SLP-1050 supercontinuum laser for enhanced industrial, research, and (bio)medical applications at Hannover Messe (April 22-27, 2024, Dutch Innovation Square, Startup Pavilion, Hall 17, Booth A40). At the fair, the Enschede, Netherlands-based company wants to show how supercontinuum (SCG) lasers can revolutionize industrial, medical, and agricultural applications, outshining traditional lamps as light sources and offering unparalleled advantages over monochrome lasers.

At Hannover Messe, SuperLight Photonics also presents the industry’s first handheld Photon-IC (PIC) device, miniaturizing SCG lasers to unlock new possibilities. The lightweight, battery-operated SCG laser is poised to transform high-resolution imaging in semiconductor inspection, crop monitoring, OCT (optical coherence tomography), biomedical, and spectroscopy applications. To address the increasing demand for high-power and compact supercontinuum laser (SCG or wideband laser) solutions, SuperLight Photonics has released the SLP-1050.

Using an amplified seed laser, this supercontinuum laser is designed to deliver more than 40 mW - more than fifteen times the battery-operated SLP-1000 - and a wide spectral range in the NIR-SWIR region. Just like the SLP-1000, it provides a coherent, stable, and low noise output. It is a small-form-factor class 3 laser with a short start-uptime, no need for calibration, high uptime, and maintenance-free.
