Shure expands Microflex loudspeaker portfolio

Shure has announced the expansion of its Microflex Ecosystem portfolio with a lineup of passive loudspeakers and a new networked amplifier. Designed specifically for conference rooms, the new Microflex (MX) Loudspeakers offer flexibility for customisation, straightforward installation, and seamless interoperability.

The expanded MX Loudspeaker range includes four new passive speakers - ceiling and wall-mounted - as well as a networked conferencing amplifier, joining Shure’s existing networked loudspeaker MXN5W-C. With other Microflex Ecosystem devices, customers now have a solution that includes microphones, digital signal processing (DSP), and loudspeakers, all working seamlessly to deliver security and installation efficiency.

As part of the Microflex Ecosystem, MX Loudspeakers are supported by standards-based security protocols to manage access and protect data including 802.1x, and AES encryption for control when connected to the MXN-Amp. This allows IT managers to use similar security protocols that they use for other networked endpoints.

The new PoE+ Networked Amplifier (MXN-Amp) is designed for superior speech and audio reproduction in meeting rooms. When used with Microflex Ecosystem microphones, DSP, and loudspeakers, it delivers immersive sound across various room types. The multichannel PoE+ powered amplifier features Dante inputs and outputs, an analog stereo input, customisable EQ, and EQ presets for the passive MX loudspeakers. The amplifier can be mounted on a rack, wall, or ceiling. The MXN-Amp is compatible with leading videoconferencing and communication platforms.

The Mini Pendant Passive (MXP-1) Loudspeaker features a compact design and is suited for open architecture or wood slat ceilings. The Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) driver enhances speech intelligibility and offers wide dispersion for complete room coverage and consistent sound quality for every listener. The MXP-1 is available in black or white finish and can also be painted to match room decor.

The Wall Mount Passive (MXP-3) Loudspeaker comes in a slim, compact design that can be wall or ceiling mounted for meeting rooms by employing enhanced spatial (stereo) audio. Like the MXP-1, the MXP-3 houses the Balanced Mode Radiator driver and is available in black or white finish. It can also be painted to match room decor.

The Ceiling Mount Passive (MXP-5) Loudspeaker offers a dual-driver architecture and an unobtrusive design that streamlines shallow depth installation, suitable for the needs of retrofit configurations. When paired with the MXN-Amp, up to eight MXP-5 loudspeakers can be used in 70 V mode. The MXP-5 is available in black or white finish and can be painted to match room decor.

The Pendant Passive (MXP-6) Loudspeaker complements any space with a sleek industrial design suitable for open ceiling spaces. It features a dual-driver architecture for consistent tonality in blended installations. Multiple pendants can be installed to meet the audio coverage needs of almost any room size. When paired with the MXN-Amp, it can drive up to eight MXP-6s in 70 V mode. The MXP-6 is available in black or white finish and can also be painted to match room decor.

Customers can integrate MX Loudspeakers with Designer 6, Shure’s configuration software, to design, deploy and commission installations. For remote management and control of the devices, AV professionals can connect with ShureCloud, Shure’s cloud-enabled centralised management platform.
