Electro-Voice unveils larger format additions to the Evolve family

Electro-Voice introduces the Evolve 70 and Evolve 90 Column Loudspeaker Systems. The two new members of the Evolve family address professionals who are looking to cover larger gigs with audience sizes of up to 500 people.

Evolve 70 and Evolve 90 are the lightest and most portable models in their class. In fact, the Evolve 90, even with the 18’’ subwoofer, is lighter than some competing 15’’ models. Evolve 70 delivers a maximum SPL of 133 dB; Evolve 90 offers 134 dB. Evolve 70 features a 15’’ subwoofer which takes low frequency extension down to 35 Hz. Evolve 90 offers the only 18’’ subwoofer in its class, taking its low frequency extension down to 28 Hz. Both models feature an efficient laminar-flow vent design and large voice coils.

Building on the success of Evolve 50 and Evolve 30, the new systems embody a solution that combines portability and a relatively compact form factor with massive output, waveguide-formed coverage and wide horizontal pattern for bigger shows and events. Designed for rapid deployment, Evolve 70 and Evolve 90 both feature the Evolve 3-2-1 approach for assembly - the three pieces fit together in two clicks to form one system.

Available in black and white finishes, Evolve 70 and Evolve 90 share many of the same features. Both offer eight 4.7’’ neodymium drivers for 120°-wide consistent coverage via proprietary waveguides, with array-formed asymmetrical 25° vertical coverage. The new additions include connections for microphones, line level, bluetooth and digital signals increasing flexibility for accommodating nearly any professional applications. These include XLR/TRS combo Mic-Line inputs, XLR and RCA line level inputs, and digital AES/EBU.

Evolve 70 and Evolve 90 are also integrated into the recently updated QuickSmart Mobile App ecosystem, which allows the user to control it as part of a system with other Bluetooth-enabled EV portable speakers. An aluminum distance pole separates the tops from the subs. The included carrying case for the array and distance pole is combined with an available accessory transport dolly.

Evolve 70 and Evolve 90 will begin shipping in summer 2025.
