“Surroundscapes” returns with new hosts, format, and guests
Bluesound Professional, a distributed streaming audio ecosystem for commercial spaces, is reviving its podcast “Surroundscapes”, with an all-new format and a new slate of hosts and guests talking through the latest technologies, installations, and trends in commercial A/V.
“Surroundscapes” is targeted at commercial A/V integrators, consultants, and business owners, interested in creating immersive experiences for their retail and hospitality spaces. The new season of “Surroundscapes” will be available starting February 18, 2025, with new episodes published each week until May 6.
“Bluesound Professional has come a long way since we first developed the ‘Surroundscapes’ content platform, adding new staff, working with new partners, and completing installations in a wide array of commercial venues including stadiums, restaurants, and even coworking spaces”, says Graeme Harrison, Vice President and General Manager of Bluesound Professional. “‘Surroundscapes’ new format allows our listeners to meet some of the new members of our team and also go on a deep-dive into industry trends and interesting installations both using our solutions and more broadly.”
Starting February 18 with an ISE Recap, new episodes will be published every Tuesday until May 6 for a total of twelve episodes in the Spring 2025 season before a short hiatus in the summer, and another twelve episodes coming for the Winter 2025 season. The Spring 2025 season will feature diverse topics ranging from the role of music and sound in promoting healthy outcomes in wellness spaces through to network troubleshooting and speaker design.
While past seasons featured Harrison in the host’s chair, the Spring 2025 season introduces new faces and voices as co-hosts. Craig Cooper, Sales Manager for the Americas; Ross Eberlin, Product Manager; and Reza Mohammed, Support Specialist, all joined Bluesound in the intervening years, supporting Harrison in growing the brand and now also as co-hosts of the podcast. The twelve episodes rotate through a series of topics with each of the co-hosts tackling different themes.
Harrison leads the conversations on emerging trends and spotlighting some of Bluesound’s partnerships. He hosts the likes of Omer Brookstein, CEO of Xyte, Jeff McSpadden, CEO of Composure, and Matteo Luppi, CEO of SoundMachine, respectively offering insights into cloud-based remote monitoring, the use of music to promote healing and preventative health outcomes, and optimizing audio streaming to drive customer experience.
Cooper and his guests - a mix of integrators and venue owners - take listeners through behind-the-scenes looks at some recent case studies featuring Bluesound’s solutions. DePaul University Athletics, Knotel’s Miami co-working space, and Chicago’s Expat café and bar, are all featured.
Eberlin and Mohammed, meanwhile, take a more “fireside chat” approach to their segments as they discuss through technical issues in the world of networked audio. Tackling general topics like networking best practices and PoE “mythbusting” through to specific questions they commonly encounter from Bluesound’s support channels, the duo’s collegial rapport has led their segments to be jokingly but affectionately called “The Ross and Reza Show” by Bluesound’s marketing team.
Recorded and available as both video and audio-only formats, “Surroundscapes” is available through all podcast platforms, Bluesound’s social media channels, and at https://surroundscapes.bluesoundprofessional.com.
