New extender from Alfatron available

Alfatron Electronics introduces the ALF-USB3-EXT USB 3.0 over CAT extender. With the ability to transmit over CAT6/6A/7 cabling systems to a distance of 80 m (295 ft), the ALF-USB3-EXT is a solution for extending the reach of USB peripheral devices such as cameras, microphones, digital signal processors (DSPs), video bars and other USB devices.

The the ALF-USB3-EXT enables presenters and others to have their equipment placed where they need it as opposed to being restricted by limited cable reach. This makes the extender suitable for applications in the areas of security monitoring, gaming, industrial control, professional audio-visual, smart medical, and other fields.

The ALF-USB3-EXT consists of two modules: a receiver (RX) and transmitter (TX). With 4-ports for USB 3.0 device connections, the ALF-USB3-EXT is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1. It also functions as a USB hub. The transmitter supports USB 3.0 Super-Speed and is compatible with USB 3.2 Gen1x1, and USB 3.1 Gen1. Together, they form a system that extends the reach of many different types of devices, free from any delays. The ALF-USB3-EXT also supports hot plugging of USB devices.

These features make the extender suitable for those environments where different types of equipment are routinely being connected and disconnected. The ALF-USB3-EXT also supports PoC (Power over Cable). Only the receiver is required to be connected to an electrical outlet. Due to its lightning and surge protection, the system is stable.
